As a society we have developed over time into using our minds instead of using our muscles. Our minds have developed over thousands of years, and have revolutionized the history of the planet. In fact the only thing that really separates us from every other species, including chimps who share 99% of the same DNA as human beings do, is our mind. Not the size of the mind, but the complex neurological connections within the mind.
Other species of animals have much, much larger brains than human beings do, but the development of what’s inside those brains are nowhere near the level of what’s inside our brains. And this is what separates us and makes us the most powerful species of animals on the planet. Lions, Tigers, and Bears are much larger and stronger than we are. But yet we have been able to develop tools like guns that can take these animals down if needed. Or, before the gun, we developed tools, like knives or arrows, or traps, which by using the mind, and implementing brilliant ideas, were able to overcome these threats. It’s not our brute strength that took these gigantic creatures down from the top of the food chain, but rather a 3 pound mass of fatty cells positioned within our skull. This is why they say that “the pen is mightier than the sword.”
In the primordial days, our ancestors often fought and used brute strength to get what they wanted. The biggest and toughest men were the alpha males. These were the guys who got everything they wanted, because if they didn’t they would kill whoever opposed them. They ruled by physical force. Like other animals such as wolves, or chimpanzees, the alpha male, is always the toughest. A wolf for instance fights among other wolves, and they decide who the toughest is. After one wolf wins, the other wolves listen and follow what the wolf who won wants to do. They fall in line, and do whatever the alpha says. This is how humans were when we first started developing as a species.
However as our minds developed, so did this instinct to follow the toughest animal in the pack. Becoming the alpha started to evolve over time. As society developed and learned new ways of communicating with each other, and people started using their brains to solve problems, they also started relying on the “smarter” individuals more. The guys in their pack who thought of the best places to hunt, the best shelters to build, the best places to get water, and the best way to make clothes. And as time passed, these things became more important to the health of all the members of the tribe.
We developed as a species away from using our fists and fighting all the time, to more of a society that uses our brains, and solves problems using logic. And the people, who could use this logic best, became the alpha males. The men who were the most apt at coming up with solutions to everyday problems using their mind, and were most skilled at helping a woman survive were the men who became the alpha males. Not only that, but the men who could communicate most effectively, and be “socially smart” with the other members of the group were the alpha males. These were the people who were leaders of the group, and leaders of both men and women. And women were attracted to these men. They love leaders and love men who can be that alpha male. Not one who is tough, but one who is smart.
Being an alpha male these days isn’t about being a tall, muscular and physically dominating man. Society evolved from that tens of thousands of years ago. It’s about being smart, social, and having the ability to lead a woman when the time comes. You can be as short and scrawny as possible, and still be an alpha male. As long as you possess these qualities, you will be revered by women.
